MLSHS Cup Highlights

Well, the cup did not turn out as planned. Not at all but still some entertaining football was played.

Match 1: Team C (Anneliese, Finn, Tonga and Nathan) vs Team E (Cathy, Alex, Jordan, Riley)
Team C won 2 (a penalty from Tonga and a surprising goal by Finn.) 1 (Riley)

Match 2: A (Sandra, Thien, Ben, Chris, Agam) vs D (Polina, Kor, Thomas, Stuart, Andrew)
Team D won 2 (Andrew and Thomas) 1 (Thien)

Match 3: Due to lack of people showing up this match was the finals, blame Norman and Bryn.

Brace yourself, Post isn't done yet.

After a few failed games we went for some drinks and when we came back picked new teams. The teams looked badly one sided but that didn't stop the underdogs. Some fine keeping from Riley and some great finishing from Finn, Thomas and others saw them up 6 - 0 at half time. Jordan and Tonga rallied there troupes.
"We need 8 goals to win they need 2 we can do this" Jordan said.
The second half was the best football all holidays. 15 minutes into the second half it was 5-7, some time later 7 - 7 thanks to some perfect passes by Andrew, Tonga, even Sandra and some clinical finishing from Chris. Now both teams needed a single goal to win. Everyone tried so hard, everyone was out of breath, tackling was perfect, possession was good and this went on for a good 5 minutes until out of the blue Riley shoots from his usual position and sends his team to 8-7 the winners. Jubilee for there team, utter disappointment for the opposition, coming back from 6 Nil down and not finishing the job. Non the less it was a truly great half.

For now though have a break, sleep in, watch some movies, get some cake and eat it. You deserve it with the brilliant performances displayed this holidays.
